Halloweenie!!

29Oct10

Ahh Halloween – a makeup junkie’s favorite holiday. I was inspired by a Tim Burton corpse video I found from youtube by MissChievous.

I used mostly Bare Escentuals too!

I start with Revlon Photoready in a paler shade (I usually mix 2 when I bought this)
Bare Escentuals Snow all over the face
Bare Escentuals Wearable Stone Dark with a bit of Black Leather to contour
Bare Escentuals Soft Focus Velour in the crease up to the brow
Bare Escentuals Black Leather in crease up to the brow and set brow
Bobbi Brown Black Ink liner on the brows and eyeliner set with Black Leather eye shadow
Nars Bali, Bare Escentuals Angel and Bare Escentuals Wearable Blue Dark for bruises
Urban Decay Zero for stitches
MAC Fleshpot over all the lips
MAC Plum lip liner
Laura Mercier Violet lipstick
MAC Cult of Cherry lip gloss

Ahh – I got my kit early (please see earlier post here for numbers)

This kit is just ‘okay’.

Creme de la Creme is a glimmer and has a lot of sheen – described as mocha creme, I find it slightly gray.

Magnefique is matte – described as smoky plum which is right on.

Avant-Garden is an okay blush, I don’t think it fits this kit all that well – described as bright carnation.

Black Coffee Big & Bright liner is really nice.  It isn’t black, it isn’t brown – it’s the perfect between!   I love this liner.

Pretty Amazing Lip Color in Rouge (brick rose) oh this is very pigmented and a lot of color.  I wanted to try this lip formula even if I don’t like the color. It isn’t drying at all which is a great surprise. It doesn’t wash off my swatch very easily just like the liner so we’ll see how long it lasts!

Tinted Hydrating Mineral Veil is not as orange/brick as the original tinted.  It’s quite a nice almost there face powder.  Lots of people will like the hydrating – just in time for the cold weather.

Lastly is the Flawless Definition in Volumizing which I already own.

This is a great price with a bunch of new products but not exciting enough for me *shrug* I am not sure I’d ever wear this – might send this back (I can’t believe it! a 2nd kit this year I am considering not keeping)

Pardon my gray shirt but the Phillies are on!!!

Oh man! I just learned there are high shine tip cards available from boutiques. I have no intention of stopping by since I don’t ‘need’ to buy anything so I am thrilled Debbie from Majykal.com copied this into a post for everyone!!

I’m going to Philly tonight to go to the Master Class which is apart of the Big Buffing Road Trip – I can’t wait to meet some new people and Bravon!
I wore a favorite kit of mine ‘Foiled Eye’ Tutoral (thanks Jessica for the suggestion)

I used disco, night owl drama, retro liner, SF Dune on the brow bone. Flawless radiance, a mix of Papaya/Pink Ribbon blush and Icing lipgloss.

I’ll have lots of pictures and things to share.. if you are going to a class or event, don’t read any further. I’m going to put all the details just past here…

http://brookeisaddicted.tumblr.com/

It’s not official and the brushes aren’t listed.. so stay tuned for when the backdoor information goes live

Musings of a Muse.. how I love your blog.. head on over to see the description of all the kits coming out this holiday season (technically these are ‘unofficial’ but how often does any of this change?). As soon as more details come out on prices/availability, I’ll be sure to share!

BE has come out with a new product line for Buxom as a companion for the Buxom Babes, Stay-There Eyeshadow all in different, vibrant shades.  They are creamy but have such a wet, fluffy, memory foam like texture!  I haven’t seen cream shadows like these before.  Worth going to Sephora to check out (the only place they are available – just be sure not to apply it to your eye and use hand sanitizer when you’re done, people are curious and not always sanitary) Anyway…

I picked up Poodle during the sephora VIB swagbag giveaway since it looked like a base I would use under shadows like I use the MAC shadesticks.  Now, the shadesticks don’t make my eye makeup budge proof so I use primer and while the Buxom stay there shadow lasted longer on their own, I still need a base (bummer, lots of people are having good results with these).  They lasted about 6 hours which is pretty darn good.  I used it for a few days with UDPP and it creased in the same amount of time (bummer).

Application: Since I’m not use to working with cream shadows, they were a bit unwieldy at first with the brush – using my finger made it easer to apply evenly.

Bottom line: I’d like to return the brush and the shadow, my eye lids are just too oily.  Such a shame, the glitterific factor is high with these, the texture is amazing and it’s an interesting cream shadow concept. I never went back to figure out why my script shrank these funny, sorry!
